While still in Beta Mode, The Broker Forum launched the Member Score feature last week.
The Member Score is an algorithm based assessment of a member’s
standing on The Broker Forum. The objective of the Member Score is to
enable members to quickly assess a prospective business partner’s track
record on our website before entering into or initiating a transaction.
The Member Score feature is scheduled to be launched in two
phases. Phase 1 (Launch in Beta) is designed so that members see their
own score, but cannot view other member’s score. In Phase 2, scores will
be available to all members. Every member will start with a score of
70, so as to give all members an opportunity to improve their score
prior to the end of Phase 1.
These scores will be displayed in the search results, the PO section and Member profile section of the website.
Various behavioral elements on the website have been taken into
consideration for the introduction of this feature. The key elements
affecting the score positively are: Positive feedbacks received,
Negative feedbacks resolved, Successful escrow transaction (both
parties). Elements that could negatively affect the score are: Negative
feedback received, Counterfeit proven or Customs Seizure transaction
(Vendor), failed escrow transaction (vendor), failed ISCP stock check as
well as unjustified feedback (Issuer).
Members should expect the calculation to evolve as additional
behavioral elements will be factored in over time. Please check here for
updates on the way the Member Score is calculated
Improving your score on The Broker Forum is about following sound business guidelines:
- Avoid posting as Stock inventory that you do not own so Moderators will not report you.
- Encourage your trading partners to rate you positively on the Member Feedback System.
- Resolve your trading issues and indicate this by using our Resolved tab in the member rating module, and,
- Above all, you must avoid trading in parts that may be counterfeit.
For any questions regarding the Member Score, please feel free to contact your account manager.
